Sodium pyrosulphate, Na2S2O7

The Sodium pyrosulphate is produced by the action of sulphur dioxide on sodium sulphate, or by heating the primary sulphate:

2NaHSO4=Na2S2O7+H2O.

On ignition, it yields the normal sulphate and sulphur trioxide.
