Sodium pyrosulphate, Na₂S₂O₇

The Sodium pyrosulphate is produced by the action of sulphur dioxide on sodium sulphate, or by heating the primary sulphate:

2NaHSO₄=Na₂S₂O₇+H₂O.

On ignition, it yields the normal sulphate and sulphur trioxide.
