Sodium nitride, Na3N
The Sodium nitride, Na3N is formed by submitting sodium to the action of the silent electric discharge in an atmosphere of nitrogen. It is decomposed by water, with energetic evolution of ammonia. Fischer and Schroter also claim to have prepared it, but they give no analyses or formula.
