Sodium hydrazide, NH2NHNa
The Sodium hydrazide is produced by the interaction of hydrazine hydrate and sodamide:
NH2•NH2,H2O+NH2Na=NH2• NH2+NH3+NaOH; NH2•NH2+NH2Na=NH2•NHNa+NH3. It can also be formed by the interaction of sodium and pure hydrazine, ammonia and a small proportion of hydrogen being evolved. The colourless, glistening leaflets are both spontaneously inflammable and violently explosive. |
